The Hobbit

As many of you may know, The Hobbit is the prequel for the The Lord of the Rings series. This book is different than any of the The Lord of the Rings books in that this book has a more casual style than The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, or The Return of the King. The Hobbit is written in the first person, from the view of the narrator. The Hobbit follows a hobbit, namely Bilbo Baggins, and 13 Dwarves.  In this book, one meets characters that are important in the next novels; Gandalf the Grey, a good wise wizard; Elrond Half-elven, the Lord of Rivendell; and Gollum (Sméagol), the long corrupted holder of The One Ring. This really is a great read… Read it before watching the new movie…
